Unemployment benefits when returning to Italy after leaving Australia
It may be your right to request it once you return to Italy
An Italian citizen can request unemployment benefits upon returning home to Italy. One needs to make sure they have the following documentation:
A letter of dismissal from their Australian employer or letter that the employer no longer requires your services and pay slips.
Once you return to Italy you have:
180 days from the termination of employment to present your request to INPS.
30 days to register yourself with your local unemployment office.
You must present the form IT/AUS 4 to your INPS office with all the supporting documentation and once all has been verified, INPS will pay the unemployment benefit.
